Hello everyone! I've been a long-time user of AnkhTech WinPE (was on v13 before) and just downloaded WinPE v15 from the 1fichier mirror. SHA1 verified and it matches, so the file is good.

The problem is it won't boot on my laptop. I'm using a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 with AMD Ryzen 7 5700U. I burned it to USB with Rufus (GPT + UEFI) and when I boot from USB, I see the AnkhTech Boot V4 screen, then it just goes black and the cursor spins forever.

Things I've tried:

- Disabled Secure Boot in BIOS ✓
- Set USB as first boot device ✓  
- Tried both UEFI and Legacy modes
- Tried 2 different USB sticks (Samsung 64GB, Kingston 32GB)
- Tried UltraISO instead of Rufus — same result

My old WinPE v13 booted fine on this machine. Any idea what changed in v15?

Specs: Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15ACL05, Ryzen 7 5700U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe, AMD Radeon integrated graphics.

This is a known issue with some AMD Ryzen 5000 series laptops and WinPE v15. The new build uses updated AMD display drivers that sometimes conflict with the integrated Radeon iGPU initialization.

v15 added new AMD driver packages which are great for dedicated GPUs but seem to cause the black screen issue on some laptops with Radeon integrated graphics. Try this:

1. Boot with nomodeset parameter:
   - At GRUB/boot menu, press E to edit
   - Add "nomodeset" to the boot line
   - Press F10 to boot

2. If that doesn't work, try booting WinPE Lite instead —
   it uses older, more compatible display drivers.

Thank you for the detailed report, nile_runner. sphynx_tech is correct about the AMD iGPU conflict.

We've confirmed this affects the following AMD APUs: Ryzen 5 5500U, Ryzen 7 5700U, Ryzen 5 5625U. We're working on a hotfix for v15.1 which should resolve this without needing workarounds.

Official workaround until v15.1 releases:

Option A: Use WinPE v15 LITE edition (recommended)
Option B: Boot with nomodeset as sphynx_tech described
Option C: Temporarily use v14 which does not have this issue
           (available on the main site under legacy downloads)

Expected release for v15.1 fix: within 1–2 weeks. I'll update this thread when it's available.

Thank you both! Tried WinPE Lite v15 and it booted perfectly first try. All tools are working, including the driver installer on the desktop. Really appreciate the quick response!

Looking forward to v15.1 for the fix. Will leave this thread open until then.
